Apple Uglies

July 23, 2011

“Mmmmmm, the apple uglies are as big as your head…”

A great road snack for Ben here, who, fueled by sweet doughy goodness, made it to the beach in record time this morning.

New rule: If you get up and drive that early, you can eat anything, as long as you document it and send it to me.

Thanks Ben!

The craziest thing I ever slaw…

July 14, 2011

Brian tries cole-slaw again (after giving his taste buds 10 years to change) to see if he likes it now…

Hmmm… does he?

No, not really. Sorry cole-slaw.  Maybe we’ll try again in 10 more years.

This guy catches on early…

Here’s 3 year old Alex chowing down on some spinach sausage soup.  Sounds yummy, and also healthy!  I don’t think there are many foods better for one than spinach.  Keep on eating and growing, Alex, and thanks for the great picture Jenny!

The Good Things in Life

Thanks to Sara, and her boyfriend Chris, for this fantastic shot:

Any other guys out there have a picture showing how much you love pizza and/or eating?  Send them my way!

Pizza Folding: Do you or don’t you?

May 16, 2010

Here’s a great shot of Sam enjoying his pizza.  He’s using the folding method which, according to some, originated in New York or New Jersey:

While I do sometimes fold my pizza, I usually practice the simple “pick it up and eat it” technique.  If the pizza has really thin crust, I’ll fold it.  If I’m trying to keep my hands clean (i.e. I’m also typing or reading while eating), OR if the pizza has lots of toppings OR if I just want to eat it slowly and savor the experience, I’ll cut it and eat it with a fork.

How about you?

Thanks for the submission Kristen, and happy belated (-1)st anniversary you two!

C is for Chewy and Calamari

Thanks (again!) to Andrea for the excellent submission and to her friend Ryan for posing for this lively photo at Cafe Leopold in Georgetown:

Le Pain

February 22, 2010

On Friday evening a few of us enjoyed the nicely presented, if somewhat pricey food and beautiful spacious ambiance at Le Pain Quotidien in Arlington.  AND since we were the last people there, we were offered FREE baguettes.  I took mine home with me on the metro, very excited to have scored free food, even though the crust was so hard I probably could have used the thing for self defense.  Andrea was so kind as to have her camera ready for this lovely shot.  Oooh la la!

Finally: Ful-Philly-ment!

February 21, 2010

You can all thank Andy for supplying me with this amazing photo to ful-philly-your cravings for pictures of guys eating stuff.  Andy, I’m sorry it took me so long to post this, only recently did I hack into the official guyseatingstuff email account (at gmail) and found your marvelous submission from last August.  Needless to say, I’ve been rather occupied learning how to be the best wifey ever and becoming a t-shirt virtuoso at work.

Our old friend Andy, with whom I have regretably lost touch with in recent times, has re-located to Philly, that great American city with great American sandwiches, to study Audiology.  “What’s that?” you say?  Haha… it’s “the branch of science that studies hearing, balance, and related disorders” (Wikipedia).  While the term “Audiology” traces back only to 1946, Philadelphians are credited with inventing the cheesesteak in the early 1930s.  If you’d like to read more about cheesesteaks, you can do so here.  If you’d like to see Andy enjoying a cheesesteak, you need look no further:

Thank you Andy!

Dear readers, it’s truly up to YOU to keep Guys Eating Stuff alive.  Send me your pictures at guyseatingstuff AT gmail DOT com.

Slots of Fun!

September 29, 2008

Sam of Handstands Across America has made it to Las Vegas!  Seems that places with a “carnival atmosphere” generally do have hotdogs available!  I’ve never been to Las Vegas, but I bet (heh heh) it’s pretty overwhelming.  It’s nice to see that 99cent hot dogs are available, so you can still get something to eat even if you squander all your big bucks.

(part of the Circus Circus Casino in Las Vegas).

Mmm… that looks good!

Thanks for the photo, Sammy!  And win some big bucks!
